2011 Ford F-150

The F-150 is available in three body styles. The regular cab comes with a choice of a 6.5-foot or 8-foot cargo bed. The extended cab (“SuperCab”) adds the option of a slightly smaller 5.5-foot cab. Lastly, the crew cab (“SuperCrew”) comes with either the 5.5-foot or 6.5-foot bed.
The 2011 Ford F-150 is available in a multitude of trim levels, including: XL, STX, XLT, FX2, Lariat, FX4, SVT Raptor, King Ranch, Platinum, Lariat Limited, and Harley-Davidson. The base XL level comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. The STX adds cruise control, an upgraded six-disc CD player with auxiliary jack, and cloth seating. Chrome exterior trim, full power accessories, and foglamps are added to the XLT. The FX2 (2WD) and the FX4 (4WD) include a towing package, 18-inch wheels, SYNC voice command system with Bluetooth, 110-volt power outlet and satellite radio.
The Lariat offers an upscale interior with leather upholstery, heated eight-way adjustable power drive and passenger seats, power-adjustable pedals, and a power-sliding rear window. The King Ranch, Platinum, Lariat Limited, and Harley-Davidson share Lariat standard features, but each trim has its own unique exterior and interior trim and feature a rear view camera, heated and cooled power front seats, heated second row seats, and trailer brake controller. Lastly, the SVT Raptor packs more power with a 6.2-liter V-8 and offers a sport design with special off-road tires and revised suspension.
The 2011 model received the most extensive overhaul in 62 years, receiving four new engines. The first is the new base 3.7 liter V-6 that delivers 302 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. The second powertrain, the 5.0-liter ‘Coyote’ V-8, is adapted from the Mustang and pulls out 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. The third 6.2-liter V-8 engine is a powerhouse with an output of 411 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the 3.5-liter twin turbo EcoBoost V-6 has the same towing and hauling capabilities, 11300 pounds, as a V-8 while sipping fuel like a V-6. EPA estimated fuel economy for the F-150 is 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.
A slew of safety features come standard on all F-150 models including a protective cage made of hydroformed high-strength steel, front and side airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, and trailer sway control. Security features such as an anti-theft system, spare tire and wheel lock, and a crash alert system also are standard across the board.
